1. Scope and contact

This policy applies to the CaffTrace iOS and iPadOS app and this website. For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected].

2. Data handled directly by CaffTrace

On-device caffeine data

Your caffeine entries, drink labels, timestamps, half-life preference, bedtime, threshold, reference drink, and language preference are stored in the app’s local storage. This information is used to calculate and display estimates. It is not transmitted to a first-party CaffTrace server.

Support email

If you contact us, your email address and message are used to answer your request and troubleshoot the issue. Please do not include health information or other sensitive personal data. Support correspondence is deleted when it is no longer needed, unless retention is required by law.

3. Google advertising services

CaffTrace uses the Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google User Messaging Platform to fund the free app and manage consent where required. Depending on your region, consent, device settings, and the ad served, Google and its advertising partners may process:

• Approximate location inferred from an IP address
• Device or app-scoped identifiers available under iOS privacy controls
• Ads shown, ad interactions, and product interaction data
• Crash logs, performance data, and other diagnostics

This data may be used to provide and measure advertising, prevent fraud and abuse, analyze service performance, and improve advertising services. Learn more in Google’s partner sites and apps notice and Google’s privacy policy.

4. Consent and your choices

Where required, CaffTrace requests updated consent information and shows Google’s consent form before requesting ads. When Google requires a privacy-options entry point, you can reopen it from CaffTrace Settings under “Ad privacy choices.” You can also review iOS privacy permissions in the Settings app.

CaffTrace does not currently request App Tracking Transparency permission. If a future version introduces cross-app tracking, we will update this policy and request the required permission before such tracking occurs.

5. Retention and deletion

On-device caffeine data remains until you delete records, reset the app’s data, or remove the app. Because CaffTrace does not operate an account or caffeine-history server, there is no server-side caffeine record to delete.

Google and its partners retain or delete advertising data under their own policies, your consent choices, and device settings. Contact us if you need help finding the applicable controls.

6. International processing and third parties

Google advertising services may process information on servers and through partners in multiple countries. CaffTrace uses the consent tools supplied by the advertising SDK and seeks to keep its configuration, disclosures, and user choices aligned with applicable requirements.

7. Security and children

We limit direct data handling by keeping caffeine history on the device and by not requiring an account. No method of electronic storage is completely secure. CaffTrace is a general wellness planning tool and is not directed to children.

8. Changes to this policy

If app features, SDKs, or legal requirements change, we may revise this policy and update the effective date. Material changes will be communicated through the app or this page when appropriate.
